Romania October 2015: Mercedes GLE among Top 20 best-sellers

          New car sales in Romania are up 3% year-on-year in October to 7.562 registrations, keeping the year-to-date total frankly in positive territory at +9% and 64.401 units after 10 months. Homegrown Dacia outpaces the market with sales up 8% to 2.565 and 33.8% share, followed by Skoda (+15%) reclaiming the #2 year-to-date spot off Volkswagen (-9%), while Ford (-37%) and Renault (-13%) post worrying drops. On the contrary, Toyota (+28%), BMW (+42%), Peugeot (+84%), Kia (+94%) and Seat (+118%) shine brightly. The Top 5 best-selling models are identical to the year-to-date total, with the Dacia Logan leading at 19.6% share above the Dacia Duster, Skoda Octavia, Dacia Sandero and Skoda Rapid. The Fiat 500L is back up 9 spots on last month to #8, the Skoda Fabia up 12 to #13 and the Toyota Corolla up 6 to #14. A few recent launches have hit the mark in Romania: the Mercedes GLE jumps 15 ranks to a fantastic 18th place with 1% share, already becoming the brand’s best-seller in the country, the Suzuki Vitara is up one further rank to #22, the Renault Kadjar is up 4 to #39, the Mercedes GLC up 48 to #40 and the Hyundai Tucson remains inside the Top 50 at #44

Romania September 2015: VW Polo and Dacia Dokker shine



       The Romanian new car market remains in positive in September, just: at +3% to 5.752 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 56.839 units, up 10% on 2014. Local manufacturer Dacia is still master in command by far with 28% share (+11%), while Volkswagen outpaces Skoda year-to-date despite sales down 10%. Ford is down 25% in 4th place, distancing Opel (+40%), Renault (-11%) and Fiat (+24%). Notice also BMW (+20%), Nissan (+52%) and Kia (+83%) lodging spectacular year-on-year gains. In the models aisle, the Dacia Logan signs a 133rd consecutive month in pole position with 18.6% share above the Duster at 4%, while the VW Polo is 9 spots on August to round up the podium. The Dacia Dokker (#6), Fiat 500 (#10), Suzuki Vitara (#23) and Mercedes GLE (#33) also shine.

Romania August 2015: Dacia monopolises podium again


Nothing is getting in the way of the Romanian new car market’s slow but steady recovery: sales are up 15% year-on-year in August to 7.362, lifting the year-to-date total to 51.087 units, up 11% on 2014. Exactly one in every 3 new light vehicle sales in Romania this month are branded Dacia, with the domestic manufacturer once again outperforming its home market at +16% to 2.450 sales and 33.3% share. It is followed by Volkswagen surging 29% and overtaking Skoda to rank #2. Ford, Opel (both at -7%) and Renault (+5%) follow with weak score whereas Mercedes (+25%), Toyota (+43%), BMW, (+41%), Audi (+53%), Kia (+183%), Suzuki (+64%) and Nissan (+53%) take off, all ranking within the Top 15 best-selling brands.
